Mrs. Marie Bernhardt Best, 84, died Friday, July 6, 2012, in Starkville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
A memorial mass will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday before mass.
Marie was an alumna of Arlington Heights High School and Texas Womanâ€™s University. She and her husband Richard raised their family and enjoyed life in Fort Worth.
Marie moved to Starkville in 2002 to be near her daughters. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, a volunteer for Oktibbeha County Hospital, and a bridge and bunko player.
She loved to travel, loved her church, her friends, and Starkville.
A special thanks to her caregiver, Kierra Ware and the staff of Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living in Starkville.
She is survived by daughter, Donna Coughlin and husband, Richard, and their children, Seth Coughlin and wife, Caroline, and Meagan Coughlin; daughter, Diana Crabtree and husband, Donald, and their children, Spence Crabtree,Â and Lyndsey Richart and her children,Sophia and Peyton; grandson, Richard (Ricky) Best IV and wife, Kristen; sister, Ann Cooper.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard Bryan Best; son, Richard (Ricky) Bryan Best III; parents, Mary and Harry Bernhardt; and two special friends, Robert McDavid and Bobby Ming.
