The year of 2013 is shaping up to be a good one for the Mississippi State football program when it comes to recruiting wide receivers.
On Wednesday evening, Dutchtown (La) High School’s Shelby Christy joined Deandre Woods and B.J. Hammond by committing to the Bulldogs.
“If you look at the class we have coming in, we have a chance to be one of the top wide receiver classes in the country,” said Christy. “We are all big and strong and can run. It is going to be exciting.”
The 6-3 receiver performed well during last week’s Big Dawg camp on the MSU campus. In the eyes of many, he was the top performer for the camp. Christy claims his efforts and commitment are in direct relation to the MSU coaches.
“The reason I picked MSU was the coaching,” said Christy, who choose Mississippi State over Georgia Tech and TCU. “Coach Mullen and coach Mirando are both very good coaches and made me feel wanted."
