Starkville High School quarterback Gabe Myles will not play in tonight's (Friday's) road game against Madison Central High School.
SHS football coach Jamie Mitchell confirmed that Myles had a sprained ankle, which would keep him out of action.
There was speculation earlier in the week that Myles' injury was serious enough to have surgery. Mitchell told the SDN on Tuesday that Myles did not have surgery and wouldn't elaborate on the extent of the injury at that time.
Without Myles, sophomore Chris Wilson is expected to get the start under center when the Jackets take on the Madison Central Jaguars in a 7:06 p.m. kickoff that will be televised by CSS.
