After selling a school-record 44,212 season tickets, Mississippi State University officials have a measurable indicator of interest in the school’s football program. Now, thousands of football fans have a one-stop source for any and all information associated with MSU’s seven home games.

The university recently launched an online fan guide — located at http://www.fanguide.msstate.edu — providing fans and visitors access to up-to-date information from campus transportation matters — parking maps, traffic flow information and live shuttle maps — to tailgating rules and campus safety contacts.

MSU Director of Athletics Scott Stricklin says the site strives to promote the best game-day experience possible for all fans.

“Technology is pretty neat, and it’s exciting to be able to offer something new to our fans. We’ll always want to look at the ways we can expand by technology, and I’m sure there will always be ways to do that in the future,” Stricklin said. “We certainly want to make the game day experience as good as possible for our fans and our visitors.”

With increased access to information, Amy Tuck, chairperson of MSU’s game day committee, says she hopes fans can familiarize themselves with the school, its policies and access points. Tuck also said the university is developing a mobile app with the guide’s information, which should be completed before the end of this football season.

“We’re committed to providing the safest and most encompassing game-day experience we possibly can, and we’re working diligently on the new app,” she said.

Besides the online guide, football fans can browse the athletic department’s own game-day site — accessible through http://www.hailstate.com/gameday — game-specific information, including rosters, statistics and a complete listing of campus events. MSU will also publish information through Twitter, using its @Mstategameday and @Hailstate accounts.
