EUPORA – In Lee Berryhill's first season, the East Webster slowpitch softball team greeted him with a Class 2A, Region 5, District 4 championship.
The Lady Wolverines took care of business and beat Eupora 7-2 Thursday to ensure the title.
East Webster jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third, but the Lady Eagles answered back with two runs of their own in the home half of the inning.
The Lady Wolverines got a run in the fourth, three runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth.
East Webster's 15-hit attack was led by Kerrigan Clark who went 2-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBI. Autumn Frost was 3-for-4 with a double.
Bailey Williams, Balie Springfield, Katie Gordon and Kendall Wilkinson each went 2-for-4.
Eupora was led by Allie Stedman who was 2-of-4 with a run scored.
