The Oxford Chargers are known for their passing game and quarterback Parker Adamson is the trigger man.
Oxford, which has an 11-1 record, plays at Starkville High School Friday night in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Yellowjacket Stadium.
"They are a talented football team," SHS football coach Jamie Mitchell. "I would think our talent is very even."
Adamson has completed 177-of-347 pass attempts for 2,188 yards and 17 touchdowns.
"Their quarterback scares me to death," Mitchell said of Adamson. "He's really a good quarterback. He was one of two quarterbacks that I chose for the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game. I've had the chance to meet with him a couple of times and he's a sharp young man."
Adamson's main target is Nick Brown, who has 41 catches for 723 yards and 10 scores.
In the rushing department, Jarius Barnes has carried 122 times for 741 yards and four touchdowns.
The Chargers advanced in the postseason by defeating Jackson Provine 27-14 last week. Their only loss of the season was to West Point 35-21.
