Kenneth was born on Dec. 4, 1924, in Mathiston to the late Eugene and Lela Sansing. He grew up in a big loving family during the depression. At the age of 18, he joined the Air Force and served as a Staff Sargent in World War II. After his military service, he followed in his father's footsteps and worked for the C & G Railroad for 17 years.
In the mid-1950's, he bought a small farm, soon opened Sansing Meat Service, and lived his dream of being a farmer and father. He was a long time member of Maben First Baptist Church where he served as a youth Sunday school teacher and deacon.
Kenneth was a gentle and compassionate man — always willing to help anyone in need. He was a true Southern Gentleman. Choosing to live his deep faith in word and deed, he could be described as Allen Jackson sang, "He grew up on the love and gentle kindness of a small town southern man."
Above every earthly possession, he loved his family.Â
He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carolyn Sansing of Maben; children, William Sansing Jr. (Ann) of Starkville, Wallace Sansing (Donna) of Maben, Vickie Brooks (Tommy) of Mathiston, Shane Stallings (Sherri) of Maben and Shannon Sansing of Jackson; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Williams Sansing; two brothers and four sisters.
Employees of Sansing Meat Service and Sod Farm will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to a charity of the giver's choice or First Baptist Church, 4036 Second Avenue, Maben, MS 39750.
