James Kellum

Mr. James L. Kellum, 93, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at his home.  

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Adaton Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Butler and Rev. Sandra Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Adaton Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kellum retired from Mississippi State University as an Electronic Technician, a WWII veteran that served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corp, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Forty and Eight, a Gideon, a member of the 40th Technical Squadron Army Air Corp. and a member of Adaton Methodist Church.   

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred Kellum; son Donald Kellum (Ebba) of West Point; grandchildren, Will Kellum (Shelia), Neely Ott (Greg), Donna Buckley (Jay), Dawn Anthony (Delmon) and Kelly Kellum; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Memory E. Kellum and Sallie Hull Kellum; sisters, Edna Reynolds, Mary Tucker and Nell Pierce; and brothers, J.C. Red Kellum and Mayfield Kellum.

Pallbearers for the service are Delmon Anthony, Jay Buckley, Greg Ott, Sidney Petty, Robert Spivey and Sonny Thompson.  

Honorary Pallbearers include Danny Tucker, Neal Tucker, Dr. Ben Sanford, Dr. Mock, Staff and Nurses of Gentiva Hospice, Men of Adaton U.M.C., Ken Brown, all staff members that worked with Mr. Jim in the Electrical Engineering Department at MSU.
