Paige Lawes is continuing her mission to make the holiday season special.
Beginning Saturday, Lawes will host her annual “The 12 Days of Christmas” luncheon series at Three Generations Tea Room featuring a variety of live entertainment at each session.
Lawes said not only is the event aimed at providing a fun holiday experience, but it allows for the opportunity to give back to community organization OSERVS.
“It’s really fun because people don’t have to plan to entertain for the holidays, so you can take a friend and make it special for them because we have entertainment,” she said. “It’s also my opportunity to give back, and this is the third year I’ve been helping with OSERVS.”
OSERVS, the Oktibbeha-Starkville Emergency Response Volunteer Service, is an organization Lawes said is dear to her heart.
“OSERVS provides direct assistance to individuals in our community who need help after a disaster,” she said. “It is a cause that is important to so many people, and Three Generations is glad to support its efforts.”
Lawes said along with providing support for OSERVS, “The 12 Days of Christmas” event allows her to celebrate one of her favorite times of the year.
“My favorite part about all of this is acknowledging the reasons for the season which are family, caring and the birth of Christ,” she said. “It’s about friendship and being grateful.”
Lawes said the event is perfect for anyone, including those who may only have an hour lunch break during the work week.
“The buffet opens at 11 a.m., but people can still come at noon, get their food and still have time to enjoy the live entertainment before heading back to work,” she said. “It’s become a great Starkville tradition.”
Lawes said along with preparing each day’s meal, she enjoys presentation aspect of hosting just as much.
“I like the table to look pretty and to give that festive holiday look,” she said. “We’re visual people and I want guest to know that this is a special event and time.”
Above all, Lawes said it is the time in the kitchen preparing meals that makes the Christmas season so memorable.
“It’s all about that holiday aroma that says there’s a party going on,” she said. “I love the creativity that comes with cooking in the kitchen and finding ways to make it special.”
“The 12 Days of Christmas” at Three Generations Tea Room runs Dec. 1-15.
