Morgan City — Mr. Truman Carr, 84, died Thursday Nov. 29, 2012 at the Miss. State Veteran’s Home in Kosciusko.Â
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home.
Burial followed in Itta Bena cemetery.Â
Visitation was held noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
Wilson and Knight Funeral Home of Greenwood was in charge of arrangements.
Truman was born in Greenwood and lived most of his live in Morgan City where he was a graduate of Morgan City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the war, Truman returned home to Morgan City. Mr. Carr was a diesel Mechanic for Thompson Machinery for 30 years and later for Belzoni Tractor. Truman was a member and deacon of Morgan City Baptist Church. Â
Mr. Carr is survived by his daughter, Jan McMillan (Will) of Newton; sons, David Carr (Betty) of Starkville and Ken Carr (Cherri) of Greenwood; brother, James Robert Carr of Ruleville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Â
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Wells Carr.
Pallbearers were Reese Makamson, Smitty Randle, Russell Carr, James Everette Carr, Matt McGowan, Gary Makamson, Buddy Morgan and Ricky Williams.Â
Honorary pallbearers are the deacons and men of the Morgan City Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Morgan City Baptist Church or favorite charity.Â
