The Starkville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place Saturday night at a local convenient store.

SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said officers received a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General at 1309 Stark Road at 6:48 p.m. Lovelady said the suspect was armed with a knife but no injuries were reported.

“This case is still under active investigation,” Lovelady said.

In a public statement, SPD said it is seeking the community’s assistance to identify the armed robbery suspect. If anyone has helpful information, SPD can be reached at 662-323-4131 or an anonymous tip can be sent through the SPD website at cityofstarkville.org.

As previously reported by the Starkville Daily News, SPD is also investigating the armed robbery of two Starkville gas stations.

Around 1 a.m. on Nov. 3, SPD received a report of an armed robbery at the Sprint Mart at the corner of Academy Road and Louisville Street. In a separate incident on Oct. 25, SPD received a report around 9 p.m. of an armed robbery at the Quality Fuels on highway 12 West. During the incident, the suspect physically assaulted the gas station clerk and the clerk received minor injuries.

Lovelady said no arrests have been made for either incident. The Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers said it is offering cash rewards up to $1,000 for tips leading to arrests and "callers remain anonymous."
