Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt pleaded guilty today to one charge of driving under the influence in Lowndes County Justice Court.
Hunt, 46, was arrested November 8 in Columbus and charged with his first DUI and careless driving. He was not in a county owned vehicle.
Hunt was sentenced to six months probation, three random drug and alcohol screenings and mandatory Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program classes. He must also pay a $600 fine and $297 in court costs.
His careless driving charge was dismissed.
According to a press release, Hunt, of 2389 Silver Ridge Road in Starkville, was on Highway 82 East in Columbus at the time of his arrest. He was released on a $1,075 bond.
