Blaze damages home in Maben

February 22, 2013

From staff reports

Fire damaged a Maben home Thursday morning, according to Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan.

Maben firefighters responded to the blaze at 720 New Light Road at about 8:22 a.m. after a passerby reported it, Rosenhan said. Upon arrival, firefighters found the left rear room in flames, he said, and they initiated an "aggressive interior attack" that quickly suppressed the fire.

The fire left heat and smoke damage throughout the house, he said. No one was at home when the fire began and no one was injured.

Rosenhan said no cause had been determined for the fire and the issue had been turned over to county fire investigators.
