Mr. Stanley Warren Wiginton, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Starkville with The Very Rev. Lee Winter officiating.
A reception will follow at the church.
Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Alabama on June 18, 1947, to the late Grace and Comer Wiginton. He graduated from Hamilton High School and the University of Alabama. At the University of Alabama, he earned two master’s degrees, one in Counselor Education and the other in American Studies. Â
Stanley worked with Jasper Alabama Community Counseling Services and Youth Court Services of Columbus. He was an avid reader.Â
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Katherine Dooley; two sisters, Brenda Wiginton (Rod McCormick) and Kathy Wiginton Dunn (Jack); sister, Karen Wiginton Ambrose (Steve); and a brother, Ken Wiginton (Susie).Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Comer Wiginton.Â
