Starkville officials confirmed a former accounts receivable clerk for the city has resigned after an internal investigation involving the city and Starkville Police Department resulted in a felony charge of embezzlement.
Court records state Latonya Henderson is charged with embezzling $846 of city money on or about Feb. 1.
Officials declined further comment on the personnel matter.
Henderson was employed by the city for a total of 11 months — seven as a temporary employee and four months on a full-time basis.
