House conferees named for school consolidation bill

State legislators John L. Moore, Gary Chism and Toby Barker have been named House conferees in a House/Senate education committee formed to come to an agreement on each branch's version of House Bill 716, which proposes consolidation of the Oktibbeha County and Starkville school districts.

Barker filed the bill calling for merging the two districts. Moore is the House's education committee chair. Chism represents a portion of Oktibbeha County as District 37 Representative.

Senate conferees have yet to be named.
