Charles Richard Orr I, age 78, of Starkville, Mississippi, died on May 7, 2013 at his daughter’s home in Seagrove, NC after a long battle with cancer. Family visitation will be held Friday evening, May 10, 6:30-8:30 PM at London Funeral Home in Lewisburg, TN, with funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, May 11. Burial will follow at Temple Cemetery in Farmington, TN. Nephews Randy Short and Richard Short will officiate the services.

Mr. Orr was born in Farmington, TN on June 4, 1934 to James Howard Orr and Gladys Fagan Orr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Janice Chapman Orr, on April 7, 2011. He was a current member of Starkville Church of Christ and had retired from Borden Eagle Brand Milk Division after more than 45 years of employment.

Surviving Mr. Orr are two children, Kimberly Orr Harmon (husband Carl) of Seagrove, NC and son Charles Richard Orr II (wife Kimberly) of Starkville, MS. Grandchildren are Lauren Moss Pate (Luke) and Callie Moss Coward (Victor) of Ramseur, NC; Will Moss of Asheboro, NC; Aaron Orr, Matthew Orr, Coby Cabaniss, Hollie Overby-Orr, and Blake Orr, all of Starkville, MS. Surviving great-grandchildren are Kierstyn Pate, Emma Grace Moss, Chloe Moss, and Carson Coward, all of North Carolina. Surviving sisters are Martha Short and Anna Clark of Lewisburg, TN.

In addition to his wife, preceding him in death were his parents; his four brothers, James Howard (Pete) Orr Jr., Robert Orr, Thomas Orr, and Paul Orr; and his oldest sister, Dorothy Chunn.

Memorial donations may be made to Church of Christ in either Starkville, MS or Farmington, TN.
