Bulldogs close down situation with Gamecocks

May 17, 2013

MSU

Mississippi State head baseball coach John Cohen knows what it's like to be around one of the great closers in school history.
Pete Young, one of Cohen's teammates at MSU, was pretty good when he came into the game to close down a game from 1987-89.
With the help of back-to-back eight save seasons in 1988 and 1989, Young was able to save 19 games during his career with the Bulldogs.
Now Cohen is able to coach a pitcher that has already passed Young on MSU's all-time saves chart.
