Blackout goes without hitch

Sunday's planned city-wide power outage put Starkville one step closer to completing a $20 million transmission project for adding a second power source.

Starkville Electric Department Manager Terry Kemp said the Starkville Electric Department and TVA worked together to put a temporary power transmission service in place, which will provide power in Starkville until the project is completed on June 23.
