CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Adam Frazier has been a hitting machine for Mississippi State.
The junior shortstop went 6-for-6 and was a home run shy of the cycle in a 11-6 win over No. 6 (Collegiate Baseball) Virginia in the first game of the Charlottesville Super Regional.
With the six hits, Frazier now has 100 this season and is tied with Richard Lee (1997) for third place in hits in a single season. He is three behind Brian Wiese who tallied 103 hits in 1998.
"Hopefully, I can get a couple more," Frazier said.
Frazier tied four other Bulldogs for most hits in a ballgame. Burke Masters went 6-for-6 in 1990 in an NCAA Tournament game.
