CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – With Mississippi State leading Virginia 5-3 in the seventh inning, heavy rain and lightning forced a delay in game two of the Charlottesville Super Regional Sunday night at Davenport Field.
The rain was persistent and caused the game to be suspended. The two teams will resume play today at 3 p.m.
The weather delay that caused the suspension was the second on Sunday as the first came in the third inning and lasted 20 minutes.
When the action resumes, MSU's Hunter Renfroe will be at the plate with an 0-2 count with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
