Downtown puts best foot forward

“Hotel Hell” has descended on downtown Starkville, and both city officials and local business owners say they’re well prepared.

The FOX Broadcasting Network program, which world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay hosts, began filming Wednesday at Hotel Chester, a small and historic boutique hotel downtown. Hotel Chester is one of eight venues nationwide to be featured on the second season of “Hotel Hell,” a program where Ramsay and a team of advisers work to “fix” struggling hotels, many of which are on the brink of closure.
