Blood drives to fill higher demand in summertime

June 18, 2013

Summertime tends to be the toughest time to obtain blood donations, according to Rosalin Johnson with United Blood Services, but it’s the time where blood is in most demand.

To help close that gap locally, United Blood Services will host three blood drives in Starkville by July 1, starting with one from 12:30-5:30 p.m. today in the OCH Regional Medical Center’s community room. UBS will also have its “Bloodmobile” on site at Gulf States Manufacturing from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and downtown near Mugshots from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 1.
