Teams use big innings in USSSA pool play

June 21, 2013

The big innings appeared to be the theme on Thursday as the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-Under State Tournament got underway at the Starkville Sportsplex.
The Mississippi Bash used a five-run fourth inning for insurance in their game as they earned a 10-2 victory against the Golden Spikes 11-U Navy in the Class A division.
Beon Jordan had two hits for the Bash, while Gideon White also contributed a hit and had five strikeouts during his time on the mound. Cameron Jackson added a double for the Bash, a team made up of predominately Eupora players.

Bombers 18, Riptide 5

The Bombers used a 13-run first inning to get a comfortable lead and go on to the win.
Patrick Lindsey had a grand slam home run for the Bombers during the frame.
