OMAHA, Neb. – One series separates the Mississippi State Bulldogs and a NCAA baseball national championship.
After 69 games, it comes down to the next two or three.
The No. 7 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs take on the No. 6 UCLA Bruins today in the first game of the best-of-three College World Series national championship series at 7 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park.
"We're certainly excited about this opportunity against a great UCLA ball club," MSU head coach John Cohen said. "(They are) very well-coached."
The Bulldogs (51-18) beat Oregon State, Indiana and Oregon State again to advance to the championship series. The Bruins (47-17) made it to the series by beating LSU, North Carolina State and North Carolina.
