All-Star competition heating up for Starkville teams

June 24, 2013

Summer is really beginning to heat up and so are the bats of the Starkville All-Star teams.
According to Starkville Baseball Association president Randy Carlisle, the hard task of selections is complete and the teams are ready to start Dizzy Dean competition.
“We have children from 7- to 12-years-old set to represent Starkville in different All-Star tournaments,” Carlisle said. “There is not a perfect way to pick the best 12 for each group and we have made some adjustments over the last few years. It is not necessarily about picking the best 12 that will play the best together or will travel well, (but) it is picking the best 12 out of the league to represent our community.”
