Starkville Academy girls basketball coach Glenn Schmidt knew she was playing for a special coach during her high school days at Madison-Ridgeland High School in the 1970s.
It wasn't until later that Schmidt realized just how important Jerry Henderson was in her life.
If it had not been for Henderson, Schmidt may not have been introduced into coaching in a career that has led to three State championships of her own at Starkville High School and Starkville Academy.
