David and Caryn Dampier have seen the love for taekwondo come full circle in Starkville.
Beginning Friday night, the First United Methodist Church’s Christian Life Center was the site of the Naval Postgraduate School Taekwondo Association’s black belt certifications.
In 1991, the NPS Taekwondo Association was started in Monterrey, Calif., by David Dampier of Mississippi State and his wife Caryn. The Dampiers who serve as local masters for the Starkville taekwondo club.
“This is real cool for us to have it here in Starkville because when we first started, it was a small group, but we’ve grown,” Caryn Dampier said.
