SMITH COLUMN: More baseball fans make way to Starkville

July 3, 2013

Smith

Tournament Baseball is returning to Starkville one more time this summer.
It has been a busy time for this city for baseball over the last month.
Mississippi State opened the month of June by hosting the NCAA Starkville Regional, then the United States Specialty Sports Association held its 11-year-old State Tournament at the Starkville Sportsplex toward the end of June that included 53 teams from across Mississippi.
Beginning on Friday, the scene shifts to McKee Park, where 17 Dizzy Dean All-Star 7-year-old squads will compete for another State title.
