The Starkville 10-year-old Dizzy Dean All-Stars have what coach Ben Knight calls a "unique" team.
Although the strength of the squad rests with a solid pitching staff, Knight said that doesn't mean it doesn't do other things well.
"Even though we have strong pitching, offensively, they are very smart and aggressive on bases," Knight said. "They take a lot of walks and have a very high on-base percentage. What happens is when they get on base, we move them around and we score. Defensively, we're pretty good too, but our strength of the core group is pitching."
