SMITH COLUMN: Mitchell one of the best for Bulldogs

July 10, 2013

SMITH

Leland Mitchell was one of the best players ever to step onto the basketball court for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Even though Mitchell was performing his skill for the Bulldogs from 1961-63 and slightly before my time, all a person has to do is look through the record book to realize the impact he made at MSU.
Mitchell, 72, passed away on Saturday and his funeral will be held today at the Welch Funeral
