The Starkville American All-Stars have their sights set on a new challenge.
On Tuesday, they will travel to Southaven where they will participate in the Dizzy Dean 8-year-old World Series. Starkville earned its spot in the World Series after winning the South State title last week in a tournament held at McKee Park.
“The boys are excited,” Starkville American coach Charlie Williamson said. “They are still pretty pumped up about winning the South State. We have a lot of confidence going in. We aren’t cocky by any means, but we are confident in our ability to play baseball. We are going up there with the play hard, have fun attitude and just see what happens.”
