Starkville High School athletic director Stan Miller knew about Jamie Mitchell's reputation as a good football coach prior to hiring him to lead the Yellowjackets.
What Miller has come to learn about Mitchell is the organizational skill he exhibits on a daily basis while running the program.
There was no hesitation when Miller considered someone to help him with certain aspects of the SHS athletic program, that he presented Mitchell's name to the Starkville School District board.
"I've been around a lot of great coaches, but what I love about this guy are his details," Miller said. "He is unbelievable about details and about everything that he wants in place. When I suggested it to (Starkville School Superintendent) Dr. (Lewis) Holloway, I said this is a guy who can really help us."
