There were certain things that Aaron Gordon wanted to see in his first match as the coach of the Mississippi State women's soccer team.
Overtime wasn't necessarily one of those things.
After the Bulldogs and the South Florida Bulls battled to a 1-1 tie after regulation, a decision had to be made whether to continue with the match.
"We never talked about overtime and what we were going to do," Gordon said. "(After regulation) they came over and said, overtime? I said, overtime? We didn't want to get anyone hurt, so we compromised and agreed to play one 10-minute overtime."
