Main Street Forest Products staff use the push pole to push lumber into a container to be shipped to Vietnam. (Submitted photo)
Sending lumber overseas required a different type of container than Jim Hunt was accustomed to working with as planer mill manager at Main Street Forest Products in Maben.
“The containers are set up so that you can you can only load them from one end, which makes them sturdy,” Hunt said. “These (have a) standard container size (of) 40 feet long, eight feet tall (and) about 80 inches wide. There’s always a learning curve with these things. It went significantly slower than it usually does to load a flatbed.”
