MABEN – To some teams, the season opener is usually a preview of how the rest of the season will go.
If Friday night was any indication, the East Webster Wolverines seem to be in good shape.
The Wolverines opened their 2013 campaign at home, defeating the Vardaman Rams 53-6.
Wolverines head coach Doug Wilson spent all week stressing to the team the importance of this game, particularly the opening possession.
“We preached to them about opening up with a good first series,” Wilson said. “Vardaman will always play tough, and we needed to come out early off the ball.”
