FRENCH CAMP – Judging by the way they played Friday night, one would never guess that the Choctaw County Chargers have only been together for a few months.
Taking on their cross county rivals French Camp, the Chargers ended their first game of the season with a 21-16 victory.
“We pulled it out,” Choctaw County coach Adam Dillinger said. “It wasn’t pretty, but it is a win and I will hand it to French Camp. They are gritty, they did good a great job and hats off to them.
“We have some guys tired and some guys hurt, but we just have to keep pushing and we will be OK. The adrenaline was going and we had a pretty good first half. We missed some opportunities in the first half I wish we could have scored on, but no matter what we have to get better from this moment on.”
