Tonight's football menu at Starkville High School comes with a little bit of egg.
The clash between the Starkville Yellowjackets and the Oxford Chargers has been given the title of Little Egg Bowl and there will be a trophy awarded to the winner.
It's a situation that both cities have embraced and something SHS football coach Jamie Mitchell hopes turned into a tradition. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
"With reclassification, it kind of opened up a spot or two on the non-division schedule so it just made sense," Mitchell said. "I'm thankful that (Oxford coach) Johnny (Hill) wanted to do it. It can be a good game for both of us.
"It is a unique spin and our kids are excited about it. They know there's going to be a trophy given away and that gets kids excited so it will be a pretty good deal for us."
