A Mississippi program is offering struggling high school students a chance to turn their fortunes around.
The Mississippi Youth Challenge Academy, based at Camp Shelby, is a program for “at-risk” 16-18-year-old students.
Starkville School District Assistant Superintendent Toriano Holloway Is familiar with the program and has referred students to it.
“It’s for students who fell behind in credits and were at risk of dropping out,” he said. “Or for students who were having problems behaviorally or students whose situations at home were affecting them at the schools.”
