HOUSTON – There was a good bit of speculation that the Mississippi State defense could not stand up to the uptempo offensive style of Oklahoma State.
The Bulldog defense held the No. 13 (Associated Press) Cowboys to just 21 points in a 21-3 loss at Reliant Stadium on Saturday.
The Cowboys averaged 46 points per game last season.
"We had a very specific plan, (and) a series of blitzes we were going to do," MSU defensive coordinator Geoff Collins said. "They've had 24 sacks allowed in two years."
