It didn't take long for Starkville native Billy Shed of Alcorn State to introduce himself to Mississippi State's Kivon Coman.
On the opening kickoff, Shed gave Coman a pop just to make sure he knew he was there.
"It was pretty exciting because the kickoff was the first thing," Shed said. "For kickoffs, you want to set the tone, so it was pretty exciting to run down and make plays again. It was like in high school."
It wasn't the only time Shed and Coman ran into each other during the afternoon.
Shed contributed on special teams throughout the afternoon for the Braves and had two catches for 6 yards on offense in the 51-7 loss to the Bulldogs at Davis Wade Stadium.
