Chris Jones is still a defensive end at heart.
The Mississippi State freshman defensive lineman was one of the biggest recruits in the 2013 class.
The Houston High School graduate chose the Bulldogs over in-state rival Ole Miss.
When he arrived in Starkville, the coaching staff started working on transitioning him from a defensive end to a defensive tackle.
"The process is pretty hard," Jones said. "I'm still telling Coach (Dan) Mullen the defensive end is still in me. I'm not fully a defensive tackle. I'm partial defensive tackle and full defensive end. We're trying to balance that out. Hopefully, I get moved back to defensive end."
