Lady Vols swing bats for victory

September 16, 2013

The Starkville Academy Lady Volunteers provided a day at the plate that coach Kayla Mosley has wanted to see this season.
With 15 hits to their credit, the Lady Vols produced enough offense to take a 14-4 victory in five innings against Jackson Academy at home.
Mosley was happy to see the hitting up and down the lineup.
"The was the difference between (Monday) and some of the other games," Mosley said. "I thought we put the bat on the ball hard. When you do that, you'll make the other team make errors and you can take advantage of that. I thought we did a better job of really trying to hit it hard somewhere.
"We really haven't been able to put things together. We haven't gotten a rhythm going and everybody hitting at the same time. (Monday) I felt like we put more hits together and it was good to be able to capitalize on some of them. That was good to see and what you want. When one person goes up there and gets a hit, you want it to catch fire with everybody else. That just hasn't been the case until (Monday)."
