Parks event earns state recognition

September 24, 2013

Starkville Parks and Recreation was awarded the Class 2 Special Event Award of Merit by the Mississippi Recreation and Park Association (MRPA) at last week’s annual conference in Tupelo.

The department received the Class 2 award, which covers cities with populations 15,000-35,000, for the Touch-A-Truck event that was held in the spring. Volunteer Starkville partnered with Starkville Parks and Recreation for the inaugural fundraising event.
