The Starkville Yellowjackets are ready to return to the table of competition and feast.
After going through an open date last week, the Jackets are anxious to get back on the football field. They get to do that today with a road trip to Columbus with the Falcons waiting to open Class 6A, Region 2 action. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
"They are hungry and the guys are ready to get back out there to play," SHS football coach Jamie Mitchell said about his team. "A week off generates a fever to get back out there and play. They are accustomed and built to play every Friday night and when that opportunity is not there, you look forward to the next one."
