State returns to Old Waverly for Invitational

September 29, 2013

More than a year ago, the Mississippi State women's golf team found itself in new territory.
Coach Ginger Brown-Lemm and her squad hosted the first ever Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point.
They see the start of the second annual event today.
The Bulldogs finished fourth in the tournament last season, but this year Brown-Lemm expects a higher finish for her team.
"We were not as advanced (last year) as we are now as a team," Brown-Lemm said. "We weren't quite as deep. This year I look for us to be comfortable in our surroundings. Our goal is to win the golf tournament. With us focusing on one shot at a time, one hole at a time kind of mentality, we're just going to go play and let it take care of itself."
