This year’s Maben Farmers’ Market has closed ahead of schedule due to low attendance from vendors and shoppers, but vendors and organizers report that the season as a whole was successful.

Maben Farmers’ Market volunteer Jane Collins said she and other organizers had originally planned to keep the market open through the end of October. Then, this past Saturday, only two vendors and about 10 customers showed up, so both the vendors and volunteers decided to go ahead and end the season.
