BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Entering his second year as the Mississippi State head coach, Rick Ray was looking for improvement.
The Bulldog coach had a trying first year in the Southeastern Conference with a young, inexperienced, and banged-up squad.
He finally has a full roster, and has seen a great deal of improvement from the returning guys.
On Thursday, Ray spoke about the returning guys who had good offseason at SEC media days.
"I think the biggest improvement someone made in the offseason in terms of strength and conditioning is Fred Thomas," Ray told reporters. "Fred played last year at around 185 pounds and right now he is at 207 pounds, so he has done a terrific job at getting stronger and that will help his individual game."
