Entering the 2013 season, many Mississippi State fans and media members thought this could be a rebuilding year for the Bulldogs.
At the midpoint of the season, State stands 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the Southeastern Conference.
The Bulldogs have dealt with a plethora of injuries.
"It is a lot of injuries," MSU head coach Dan Mullen said. "I don't know if we've ever had this many. I'm sure we have, but it just seems like a lot. (There are) injuries in the secondary, injuries on the line, running back, quarterback, everywhere."
The Bulldogs lost junior safety Jay Hughes in the first game of the season with an Achilles' heel injury. They also lost sophomore offensive lineman Justin Malone in the first game against Oklahoma State with a leg injury.
