It may have been Meet the Players night for the Mississippi State basketball programs Monday night at the Griffis Ballroom of the Palmeiro Center, but the participants joked and visited like everyone already knew each other.
The light-hearted atmosphere was filled with introduction of the Bulldog men's and women's basketball teams, photos Champ, the Bully XX mascot and free refreshments for all who attended.
The Oktibbeha County chapter of the Mississippi State Alumni Association hosted the event.
MSU men's coach Rick Ray noted the progress his team made down the stretch last season and looks forward to much improvement this year.
"We had some trials and tribulations last year, but I was real proud that our team was able to bounce back, persevered and won three of its last five games," Ray said.
